Headquarters of the Pilgrim Society, the Pilgrim Hall Museum features an impressive collection of 17th-century artifacts and historical paintings, including works by Henry Bacon and Henry Sargent. A changing exhibit gallery has featured displays on such topics as "Spoons, Salts & Saucers: 300 Years of Table Settings"; and "Packing for America." The museum occupies a pillared, Roman-style building near the downtown waterfront, a few blocks west of Pilgrim Memorial State Park.
