The museum is home to the Mayflower Society, a genealogical organization devoted to preserving the heritage of the tens of millions of people descended from the Pilgrims aboard the 1620 Mayflower voyage. Housed in the stately 18th-century mansion of Edward Winslow, the museum has several historical exhibits, beautiful exterior gardens, and a pleasant, peaceful genealogical library. It lies along the downtown waterfront, across from Pilgrim Memorial State Park.
